Volunteer Opportunities
If you love animals and want to make a difference in your community, volunteering with the Floyd County Animal Rescue League is a rewarding way to help homeless pets find loving homes.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers play a vital role in supporting FCARL's mission. Opportunities include:
- 🐾 Animal Care – Help care for adoptable cats at Feeders Pet Supply by feeding, cleaning litter boxes, and providing socialization and affection.
- 🐕 Adoption Events – Assist with off-site adoption events by introducing animals to potential adopters and answering questions.
- 💉 Microchipping Clinics – Help register pets, greet owners, and assist with community microchipping events.
- 🎉 Community Fundraising Events – Volunteer during Harvest Homecoming, "Picture Your Pets with Santa," and other fundraising events throughout the year.
- ❤️ General Support – Assist with organizing supplies, administrative tasks, and other activities that help FCARL serve animals and the community.
Volunteer Requirements
- Volunteers must generally be 16 years of age or older.
- For Harvest Homecoming, volunteers 13–15 years old may participate if accompanied by a parent or guardian who is at least 16 years old.

Participate in Community Events
Volunteer with FCARL in the community! Sign up to volunteer at one, two or more of our events!
Off-site Adoption Events

Help get shelter animals out into the community and seen by potential adopters by volunteering at various community events! If you are an outgoing person who enjoys talking to people and have a love for animals then this volunteer opportunity is for you! These events are held throughout the year.
Microchipping Events
FCARL hosts free community events to microchip companion animals. These clinics are busy so if you are someone who enjoys working under pressure and can multitask then this might be the volunteer opportunity for you! These events are held throughout the year.
Harvest Homecoming

FCARL has a booth at Harvest Homecoming and we rely on volunteers to help man the booth 12 hours a day for 4 days! Volunteers need to be engaging with the crowds and be comfortable handling money. We sell FCARL merchandise and other items to raise funds. We also have a kids ball toss game. This event is held in the fall (variety of shifts available)
Picture Your Pets with Santa

Get into the festive spirit by volunteering at this fun event! FCARL volunteers are based at Feeders Supply on State St in New Albany and E. Lewis & Clark Pkwy in Clarksville. This event takes place the first two weeks of December (variety of shifts available)
Age Limit for Volunteers
Volunteers need to be 16 or over. Only exception are Harvest Homecoming volunteers. Those aged 13 and over can volunteer for that event but do need to have a parent/ guardian 16 or over volunteering with them. We can provide credit hours for school projects for Harvest Homecoming only.
